Midterms, Notes, and Slurpees.

Today started out like it usually does: me waking up, way too tired for my own good, then trudging around my room getting ready. I got less than an hour of sleep last night, so, like I always do when I can't sleep, I rearranged the furniture in my room until I become tired. I've changed the position of my bed and things look much more spacious now. I quite like it where it is; I think I'll keep it like this. I'm trying to make room because I'm getting a desk and bookcase soon. Can't wait. I've never owned a desk in my room before. Or a bookcase. I've found a desk that I really really want, and I can't wait.
     Well, I surprisingly got to school on time (my time management all depends on how my hair likes me for the day, is that bad?), and when I got to school I walked into my Intro to Theatre class and totally forgot that we had our midterm today. Luckily, I did four years of theatre in high school, and I haven't even opened my theatre textbook and I knew everything on the test. I finished the test in like ten minutes, and then left the class, because we could. I usually have just a 2 hour break in between my theatre and philosophy class, so I usually just hang in my car and read or whatever, but this time it was only 8:20 and my class didn't start until 11. I decided to venture off to a local Borders, because I really want to work there, so I went to ask some one how difficult it is to get a job there and what the process is. I talked to a really nice girl who said it wasn't terribly hard, just that the application process is really long. That got me quite hopeful. I then proceeded to buy John Green's An Abundance of Katherines because it's the only one of his that I have yet to read. I also put my very first secret nerdfighter note in Paper Towns. It felt good. I can't wait for some one to find it. I wrote my youtube channel on the note as well as the Vlogbrothers (John and Hank Green), and I do hope they contact me.
      I headed back to school then went to my philosophy class. We've been watching the show Dollhouse in the class, which is fine by me. xD It's actually a good show; I like it.
     After school, I hung out with Tiffanie, Sadaf, and Steven. I had fun. :] I haven't seen Tiffanie and Steven in such a long time; I missed them. We hung out at Tiffanie's house and played the game Life, then Super Smash Bros. BRAWL on Wii, which I am finally getting better at. haha. Tiffanie and Steven always gang up on me when we play. Then we went to get Slurpees form the 7/11, which I was craving so much. I had a lot of fun, and I missed my friends so much. Going to different colleges suck sometimes.
    Well, I've officially been up for more the 24 hours, and I'm so knackered. I can't keep my eyes opened.

Stickaid!!

Hello people who are reading this!
If you have came across this, you really need to know about this incredible thing called STICKAID 2010!!!!  It's an amazing live show charity, raising up money for Unicef. It's hosted by the ever-so lovely Myles Dyer and Charlie McDonnell. Tons of others have helped out as well( mrtinoforever, Lex Croucher, Tom Milsom, Alex Day, Rick C., EddPlant, Cheektv, RH Experience, and many more!)(I didn't feel like linking all...). If you're not so sure what Stickaid is, it's a TWENTY-FOUR HOUR live stream that Myles has arranged. It's best to just check it out! And donate most definitely. I have been tuned in since FOUR A.M. here in California, which is when it started in my time, and I plan on staying the full 24 hours. We still have about 6 hours to go. The starting target of it was 10,000 pounds, and you know what? We reached that goal BEFORE the halfway(12 hour) mark! If that's not commitment to helping children in need, then I don't know what is. Even if most of the people watching are Charlie fan girls and keep asking to see him shirtless... But anyway! Let's keep donating people! Every amount counts.

-Well, right now, I think Myles has gone slightly delirious, for he is talking to a bun that he drew a face on. These poor guys have put so much into this show, and you should help in return!
-Also, there have been BEAUTIFUL performances by Sons of Admirals, Rick C., Tom Milsom, Alex Day, EddPlant, Cheeky, a rocking Atreyu cover by Myles, Alex, and Pete, and a heart wrenching performance by a guy named Charlie(not McDonnell), who wrote about our dear Esther Earl.
-Charlie and Myles got a full make-over, with fake eyelashes and everything. That was disturbing...yet interesting at the same time. Myles also BLEACHED HIS HAIR.
-The crew has done the Single Ladies, Time Warp, and YMCA dances.
-There has been wicked hilarious improv by the RH Experience and some of the others, like a "reenactment" of Twilight.
-Tom Milsom coming up with brilliantly hilarious "mood music" on the spot.
-Stickaid AND Myles were Twitter Topics for quite a while.
-Myles smashed eggs with his forehead. Bless him.

Gotta get back to Hogwarts!

Sorry all, I'm in quite a rush. I haven't even packed HALF of the things I need into my Hogwarts trunk. I mean, the train leaves at 11 and I have still yet to find my cauldron and potion supplies! Oh, here they are, under my robes....

Okay, okay, sorry for the daydream sequence...but if I was still 17 I would be starting at Hogwarts in the morning! Now, I'm 18 and have no chance.:[ Oh, childhood....

 

  Back to the unfortunate real world.

Today, in Costuming, I had a really great time. It's my only class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which I love. The assignment in class today was to work with a partner and we each had to come up with our own "design" out of only a large strip of fabric, resembling a giant sheet, and a crap load of safety pins. I partnered with Sami and she designed this cool like, mixed period piece crossed between a toga and a hint of an 18th century piece with the like puffy butt piece haha. It was cool.

I was really proud of mine, and I'm actually really surprised I managed to make it without cutting anything. That piece was chalk full of safety pins though. SO MANY. I made this kind of a-symmetrical party type dress, that kind of had a hint of Lady Gaga to it. I'm just going to post pictures because I can't really describe how it looks, but I'm super proud of it, given the amount of time and materials we had. PROUD JORDYN IS PROUD.

After class, I came home and took a nap because I was so incredibly tired. I decided to opt out on auditions for an upcoming play at school, because I just don't feel confident and ready yet. We're doing Romeo and Juliet in the Spring though, and I'm DEFINITELY auditioning for that. Romeo and Juliet is one of my least favourite Shakespeare's (Shakespeare nerd FTW), but I'll be in anything Shakespeare if I have the chance. I think I do well in Shakespeare plays. I also think I do better in serious plays than funny ones, because I don't think I'm incredibly funny, and the one that's having auditions right now is a comedy. I think I'll just do what I can to help backstage. I like working backstage.

   Pretty much the extent of my day. Nothing too exciting except my awesome outfit.:3 Just napped, watched some t.v., and finished reading my Philosophy assignment.

Pokemon theme song, Costuming design class, first week survival.

So, I should probably refrain from dancing like a maniac to the Pokemon theme song downstairs, because occasionally my family likes to come downstairs....Ahem, anyway, To the blog-mobile!(and hey, it's not late!)

    Today was a pretty simple day at school. I only have one class on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it's my Costuming class. If you read my blog from Tuesday, you'll see that I missed the class that day because I got the times wrong because I'm a failboat.xD There's only like 10 of us in the class, and I really like the teacher. She's from Montreal and she has a tiny hint of an accent and I like it. :] I thought the class was going to be pretty basic, like learning how to sew clothes

(sorry, I had to pause to get tea. We got a new kettle which boils the water super fast and I don't know why but even though our old kettle boiled the water as well, the new kettle makes the tea SO MUCH BETTER. Gah, I love tea....back to our scheduled program..)

Anyway, I thought it was going to be basic stuff, like sewing and putting iffy costumes together, but no, we're actually going to be designing the costumes for Romeo and Juliet that we are going to be putting on this year. First, the teacher started off by giving us a standard "Da Vinci" model that looks like this:

She had us trace it into our sketch books, which I was okay with, because, well, it's tracing and I can do that, haha. Then, after we did that, she made us free-hand it and I was like "er4tWIrhg$#%YTED" and made mine so disporportionate.

I mean, damn, girl's got stems! haha xD The legs are super long... blegh. After we were finished doing THAT, she told us now that we were going to do timed sessions where she would stand on a block, assume a position, and we would have to draw the shape of her body in ten seconds. She said we could start with stick figures with the ten second session, but then she asked other people to come up and model with 30 seconds, then a minute, then 5. She made us be really detailed when we got to the 5 minute sketches. I didn't realise how intense and stressful this was going to be for me until I remembered that I CAN'T DRAW WORTH #@$#%.

They look like cave drawings. haha. Now, lastly, she had us pick a costume out of one of her costume design books and try our best and free-handing a costume. I chose a simple sketching, not a big elaborate thing, because I wouldn't be able to do it. xD I'm decent when it comes at looking at a picture and mimicking it, but when it comes to my own free-hand, I'm just complete shite. I chose an 18th century dress, because I love that era. Here's what it looked like:

It was actually a pretty intense class and wore me out, but I didn't take my nap today.:/
   Since that was my only class for the day, I headed home, and wow, I'm such a loser. xD It seriously took me, I kid you not, TWENTY minutes to locate my car. I could not find it for the longest time. I mean, how hard is it to misplace a tiny red car with an Autobot Transformer sticker on the gas lid?! Only me.....sigh...When I got home I edited my "Dear Future Jordyn" video for a while, because I've been busy this week and have had no time to edit it. But I am determined to get it finished tonight! At 3 I had a hair appointment (finally), and cut it a bit shorter again. It so much easier to manage when it's short. It just bugs me when it gets long. Then I came home and have been editing ever since. Oh, I did order some Toms shoes in between that. Their awesome shoes with a great cause. If you buy a pair, the company sends a pair of shoes to kids that don't have any.
    My pre-ordered copy of MockingJay hasn't come yet, which is upsetting me. Everyone I know that reads the Hunger Games trilogy has pretty much finished it, and I can't discuss it, and I have to be extra careful around the internet incase of spoilers. SEND IT TO ME NAO, AMAZON!
    I just got my financial aid all fixed and accepted and wow, oh my god, they are paying for my entire year at university. :') When I told my grandma, I was honestly crying because I had no idea how we were going to afford it, because I only got $200 of scholarship money from Theatre and Choir and that hardly covers the cost of books. I'm so relieved, and so incredibly thankful. Good things do happen to people who have patience and wait. <3 I'm so thankful, so so thankful.
All in all, my first week at university has been quite the success, except for the little mishap on Tuesday, but all is well. I don't have class on Fridays so my weekend starts now! :D And then auditions for my first university production are on Monday and Tuesday...I'm quite nervous.
